Ours is 15+ years old and has been passed from one offroad walking/jogging family to the next" - Mumsnet user, parentsvsPIL I love our double Nipper and used it from newborn with the newborn insert. Be aware that as they are real tyres they can get punctures, so be prepared to have to fix them" - Mumsnet user, Postmanbear

I have a Thule Chariot which is a bike trailer but also has a jogging wheel option too. I have jogged in rutted paths (woodland) and cycled loads, plus (it has smaller stroller wheels too) it bumps up and down curbs so easily. I'd recommend this one if you have lots of room for storage (I keep mine in our garage) and you are ever likely to cycle as well as run” - recommended by Mumsnet user, DontBuyANewMumCashmere Our verdict Schedule regular breaks to make sure your little one is enjoying the ride. Don’t forget to take water to make sure you and your child stay hydrated. We designed this pushchair with the goal of providing convenience and ease of use for parents, and we are delighted to know that it has been serving you well for three years now. It's fantastic to hear that it fits perfectly in your tiny car boots with detachable wheels and folds easily, making your life easier when you're on the go.Out 'n' About pushchairs offer a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy nature together, and Our practical and durable design makes them a reliable investment that will last for years. Suitable from: Birth to 25kg (around five years) | Weight: 12.9kg | Folded dimensions: 93 x 63 x 39 cm | Harness type: 5-point | Adjustable handlebar: Yes What we like Take it slow: It’s best to start things off slowly and gradually increase your pace as you become more comfortable with running with your child in tow. Steering: Includes a fixed front wheel so you can lean into corners, providing more stability over rough terrain It's wonderful to know that the Nipper Double V5's all-terrain capabilities and versatility have made it a perfect fit for your family. We're delighted that even with your almost 3-year-old aboard, the buggy still feels lightweight and manageable. There is also a wide range of fresh style-matching accessories that are available to buy separately like carrycots, footmuffs, changing bags and many more.

How to run with a running buggy

I used an Out nAbout Nipper Sport from birth - it's my only buggy. If you like running, it's a better model than the 360" - Mumsnet user, Cornishmumofone The one-hand recline is handy for dealing with snoozing babies mid-run and the supportive padded seat offers a smooth ride. It’s almost ready to go straight from the box as the seat comes attached to the frame but you’ll need to use a bike pump to inflate the wheels before popping them on the chassis. It’s pricey but it’s well engineered, extremely sturdy and very easy for runners and walkers to manoeuvre.

Our commitment to practicality, lightweight design, easy maintenance, and durability has been at the core of our non-negotiable design principles for over 20 years. We believe that a pushchair should be a reliable companion that can withstand the demands of outdoor terrain while providing convenience and comfort for both parent and child. This sturdy piece of kit from Kiwi brand Mountain Buggy was originally designed to navigate complex terrain and mountain paths around New Zealand, so it's an ideal ride if you're a trail runner with a tot in tow. Our tester found it was really easy to set up, while the clever one-hand fast-fold action means it collapses in seconds. The Terrain also has a swivel front wheel which can be easily switched from run to walk mode and comes in handy for shopping trips and use as an everyday buggy too. But the greatest feature is its longevity: you can use this buggy from six months old up until your kid is about five, and it has a retractable leg rest for toddlers, too. Key features

About the author

Running form: It's important to maintain the right posture while you push. 'Try to stay upright, driving forwards with your glutes and not to lean on the handlebars with a big bend forwards,' says Wendy. Weight: The lighter the overall weight of the pram, the easier it is to push, especially if you’re transporting an older child across uneven terrain. Look for a lightweight option with an aluminium frame.

Combining style and sturdiness, the Mountain Buggy Terrain comes with both 12- and 16-inch air-filled wheels that can be interchanged depending on whether you’re running up muddy hills or jogging along smooth tarmac. With large air-filled tyres, rear-wheel suspension and lightweight frames, running buggies are sturdier than regular pushchairs and offer a smooth journey for both runners and riders. Running buggies can be an expensive business and the Chariot Cross from Thule is at the top end of the spectrum. But you get what you pay for, and when you consider cost per use plus functionality, this premium piece of kit takes kiddy transportation up a notch. As well as being a smooth and comfortable ride for runners, it's designed for cycling, walking and even skiing too. Thanks to the brand's VersaWing system, you can switch easily between activities with a few small adjustments (although you do need to buy the skis separately) and it performs equally well across all terrains. 5. Most durable running buggy: Mountain Buggy Terrain

Persevere: 'Running with a buggy is harder than without, but it gets easier the more you do it so don’t be put off!' says Wendy. At the moment our Gift Card service is not available to use online and can currently only be used In store. Gift Cards cannot be used when paying for memory makers. Adjustable handlebars: It’s well worth looking for a pram that comes with an adjustable handlebar, especially if different family members will be running with it. You’ll want to experiment with different handlebar heights to find a comfortable running position.
