So good! Brighter minty cool rosemary peppermint, with a darker base. Far less linear than modern batches.

Got an old mini of this, i avoided buying the newer batches....this old stuff smells amazing it's practically the same as Green Irish Tweed. Identical! Got a new batch and I also have a super old vintage batch. All I gotta say is: old batch is way better. New batch still gets compliments but it has such a stale after-smell. Like, you smell it and get a slight headache. Smells alright in the air though. Still gets compliments too! (I got a compliment the day I got it.) Just know whatever you’re smelling now is not the original. It's just not the same. This was a power house fragrance in the late 80's/90's. It was a literally a lung ful of ocean spray where ever you went, whom ever came across it, but in a good way. and it's name was perfect for such a product.Great value for money, although the re formulation is disappointing, as it does not last as long as it used to. I was wrong. VERY WRONG. The opening is nice and smells like you’re fresh out the shower. 15 minutes later, and it smells like stale grease you left sitting in a frying pan. And it was STRONG too. I began feeling extremely nauseous and had to scrub it off, open my windows, turn on the fan, spray 3 other perfumes just to get the god-awful, nauseating deep-fryer grease smell to go away. I immediately put it up for sale. I'm currently sat on a very hot train that's crowded and one person is wearing heavily applied Angel while I'm sat in my fresh, cool melon aura feeling serene and refreshed. Only now much older and more exposed to other Parfume houses did I realise that it’s very much like GIT.

Years and a lot of perfume later I can now see the point of calone (and similar accords). In moderation they balance dense sweet floral and fruity accords. Vera Wang Princess, for instance, is rescued from chocolate-y disaster by a neat little slice of calone through it. Cool Water is also another addition to my vintage collection, there’s something about fragrances before 2000 that just had such a unique personality to them, Acqua di gio, eternity, Givenchy Pi, Green Irish Tweed, it really adds character to my whole collection.The DNA, character, personality and identity of Cool Water is simply gone and replaced with garbage. It is summer in a bottle. It is watery and floral and fruity but not super sweet fruity. It is fresh. This is a day outside on a picnic.

There's no other notes which I can smell, no florals or berries here and tbh you don't really miss anything else The only blue frag I've had was and is Nautica Voyage and I really like Voyage but comparing it to CW I personally think CW smells better. but its aromatic, slightly spicy, and watery aspects are such a perfect blend, no matter how synthetic the current formulation.I have written a review earlier..,but just want to remind myself, that this is a Calone-Evernyl bomb. Sadly, this perfume as an old school classic had gone through severe reformulations and now this is more of Aftershave Lotion, than a perfume actually. Decent price too on the first formula with inflated costs. It doesn't have the box but the bottle is legit mint condition since it came out of a gift-set.
