I use the cotton wool pads, dip them in the saline, squeeze them out so there's just a bit of moisture in there, and always pull the muck out away from the inside the ear flap. It is in fact difficult to get a powdered product to travel deep into the ear canal even if you try. Over eight million households on certain benefits and tax credits will receive their second cost of living payment from today (Tuesday 31 October). Her ear was so bad the poor thing was walking around with her head tilted to one side, ear flap and entry to ear canal was bright scarlet yet it was healed in no time with the "magic powder". If I was using Thornit daily for 10 days or so with no improvement or the ear was red and swollen a trip to the vet would be wise I think - though Thornit has always cleared up any ear probs my dogs have had.

Hi, get a teaspoon and poke the narrow end into the Thornit powder so you have a little "mountain" of it, that is no more than a good "pinch" or maybe two pinches as its such a big dog? These aren’t your average Easter eggs – think deliciously smooth milk chocolate beautifully decorated. Relief comes with the first dose, but the treatment should continue for one to five days (usually three). If this is applied to the inside of the ear flap and the top of the ear canal, a minimal amount will travel a short distance into the ear canal.

I have used Thornit but still not sure how I feel about sticking powder down a dogs ear when I dont know how tried and tested it is (scientist, can't help it plus I work with mites, just not ear mites).

According to cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, "The white man’s names are Sasquatch (invented in 1929 in Canada) and Bigfoot (first used in California in 1958). After 2 + years and hundreds of pounds and an ear flushing etc later, I put my Am cocker back on Thornit. Can anyone who uses it tell me how often you are supposed to apply it please, is it once a day, twice a day, couple of times a week? Can only highly recommend thornits although we agree to disagree with our vet who not surprisingly is not in favour of it (it is not medicated and therefore not vet approved). It is part of most Cavalier breeders grooming regime that after they have brushed/combed the entire ear feathering a small pinch of Thornit is added to both ears. When my vets asked what I used on Roo's ears they said 'no wonder it improves, zinc is fantastic at fixing x, y, z etc etc'. Same as human medications, vets are only allowed to use and prescribe human medications if there is no licensed animal product available.

Thornit-any good? | UK Pet Forums Forum

then dust the inside flap of the ear with Thornit - I do this on a weekly basis with my Lab and her ears stay great (she used to have lots of ear issues) It is advisable to make sure she has no serious infection or damage with your vet first though. But it’s even nicer if they’ve put in that extra bit of effort and had it personalised just for you. It's my silver bullet, although weirdly let me down last summer when puss-cat had a persistent infection. Whether it’s a suitably impressive gift for someone extra special or a giant Easter egg to break apart and share, we’ve got you covered. Bought some Thornit ear powder for my neighbours St Bernard at UK Toy yesterday but it wasnt until I got home I realised that there was no instructions on how much to use etc.
