To find your perfect hiking shoes or hiking boots, consider the shoe's weight, how durable it is and most importantly, the comfort of your feet. La Sportiva's TX4 Mid GTX take the classic approach shoe and add more support with this Mid design. They are still made with a solid sole, leather outer and Gore-Tex lining. They feature everything you want in an approach shoe with extended rubber bumpers around the toes, along the sides and up the heels along with the added support of the mid cut around the ankle. A strong, effective lacing system allows you to get the most comfortable fit and the large pull loop on the heel makes getting them on much easier too. The Gore-Tex lining helps keep out the wet on days when the weather is not on your side. The Boulder X set the bar extremely high as the gold standard of approach shoe. But La Sportiva has been quietly tweaking designs and stealing bits from their Boulder X and climbing boot lineups to create the all new Traverse X series of approach shoes and boots. High resistance to abrasion and low weight is provided thanks to the PU Techlite rand and protective rubber top cap.

The TX series include three variations, TX2 – a climbing focused approach shoe, TX3 – mix terrain walking shoe, and TX4 – a mountaineering model designed for technical routes, scrambling and hiking. In this case I opted for the TX4 with a Goretex lining for added protection against the infamous Welsh weather…..rain not being an uncommon factor even in the summer season. TX4 is a sturdy “built to last” boot, thanks to the STB Control System™ that provides structure and torsion stability. The hard wearing leather uppers have an essential design and are high abrasion resistance thanks to the PU TechLite all-around rand: The Vibram MegaGrip sole with climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear are designed for climbing routes and return trails on technical terrain. The lacing system derives from the Mythos climbing shoe and regulates tension and internal volume in one easy move. Traverse X the ultimate expression of moving in the mountains in comfort, speed and safety. and adaptability in heel hooks when bouldering. There are no additional costs or duties on products marketed in countries within the European Union. Customers will not have to pay anything on delivery. Intended for use on hikes, approach walks and via ferrata, it is designed for technical terrain. Thanks to its low suede upper part, it is very comfortable and ultra-light with a weight of only 410 g per shoe. STB Control System™: the upper wraps the midsole in the medial zone increasing stability on traverse routes and wraps around the foot for a comfortable and precise fit.

The La Sportiva TX4 is a sturdy “built to last” approach shoe, with the "STB Control System™" that provides structure and torsion stability. The slightly large fit and wide toe box—built for comfort and stability—may be too roomy for those with low-volume or narrow feet.

As the name implies, the line is designed to traverse mountainous terrain, whether that be via ferrata, mountain ridges, or easy trad climbing. The TX4's are perfect all-rounder for just about everything outdoor-related, with every detail, studied to guarantee grip, comfort and protection in a wide range of conditions. The soles of the TX4 are made by Vibram, the leading manufacturer of soles for climbers, hikers and walkers. Now that your boots are done up properly stand up on your tiptoes and walk on the spot on the balls of your feet as if you are walking up a steep hill. If your heels lift more than approximately 5mm from the footbed you may need to pull the laces tighter, or the boots may just be the wrong shape for you.At Addnature, we integrate firmer, cushier and lighter soles into our hiking boots and waterproof hiking boots to protect your feet during these outdoor adventures. Mountaineering Boots Be sure to choose a water resistant material for your waterproof hiking boots or mountaineering boots with insulation features for when the seasons change. Hiking Shoes The La Sportiva TX4 GTX Approach Shoes is a rugged and sturdy, with uppers made of hard-wearing leather and their PU Tech Lite rand giving it enhanced torsion, stability and a “built to last” appearance. You get an aggressive, in your face sole unit provided in this instance by the industry leaders Vibram. The sole unit meets a rubber toe box that looks like it could belong to a climbing shoe and even includes a climbing zone/edge for precision footwork, and a “break” system to assist on steep exists. The comparison to climbing shoes doesn’t stop here though, with a lacing system taken from their Mythos climbing model that offers better volume and tension control throughout the length of the shoe. This test will tell you if the shape of the internal heel cup matches your heel to ensure it holds you securely, especially when ascending steep ground. We are trying to eliminate the dreaded heel blister. However, even after the most rigorous assessment and testing, there is no better way to be absolutely sure than to have the boots on your feet for an extended period of time. We therefore offer our Home Trial Period which gives you the opportunity to wear the boots around your house to give you an indication of how they feel before you venture outside. We recommend that during the Home Trial Period that you wear the boots for as long as possible and at different times of the day, wear them up and down stairs, when moving around and when resting, you can even sleep in them if you want.

Hiking is quite an engaging physical activity that requires you to be invested. That means choosing your gear appropriately. When going on a hike, forget flashy wear, fashionable and trendy shoes and go for functionality-such a move helps leave your feet in good shape.

High abrasion resistance and reduced weights thanks to the PU TechLite rand and rubber toe for extra protection, Vibram MegaGrip sole with Impact Brake System at the rear, Trail Bite Heel enhances the downhill grip. Climbing zone at the toe for climbing routes and return trails. If you can see this amount of space then you are pretty much on the way to making sure that your boots are the correct size. This space between your toes and the end of the footbed ensures that you will not stub your toes on the inside of the boot when you descend. This can be excruciatingly painful. If you can’t see this amount of space then it’s a good bet that the boots will be too small. La Sportivahave transferred their knowledge from stiffer mountain boots into their approach range, naming it their STBControl System. Essentially, the upper wraps around the midsoleat the middle of the shoe which enhances stability on traverses and rough terrain. This also provides a more supportive and snug fit, in turn increasing the comfort and precision while climbing. La Sportiva's TX4 GTX are a classic approach shoe made with a solid sole, leather outer and Gore-Tex lining. They feature everything you want in an approach shoe with extended rubber bumpers around the toes, along the sides and up the heels. A strong, effective lacing system allows you to get the most comfortable fit and the large pull loop on the heel makes getting them on much easier too. The Gore-Tex lining helps keep out the wet on the walk in but obviously with a shoe that is this low cut water can (and does) get over the tops easily. I wanted a good all-round walking shoe for the mountains, I wanted it to be waterproof with a very grippy sole unit, potentially with a toe box that could handle some precision footwork for scrambling, and something that didn’t look too unfashionable for a cold one at the local after a day on the hills!

At Addnature, we provide mountaineering boots with shanks and plates designed with the best technology to prevent bruising on your feet. Waterproof hiking boots The hiking boots, hiking shoes, and waterproof hiking boots product category includes: Hiking Boots Lined with Gore-Tex, the TX4 Mid is completely waterproof and allows them to be used in wetter environments as well as during climbing situations. As well as a Gore-Tex membrane, they also feature a full suede leather upper for durability and added water resistance. At the toe, there is a climbing zone, which is a smooth area of rubber for maximising traction on narrow footholds; again, this will help scramblers and climbers alike and is rarely found on regular hiking footwear.

In our Hereford shop we offer a professional boot fitting service where we assess your feet, find a selection of boots that match you foot shape and most importantly we make sure that they are comfortable. This iseasy to do in the shop, where we have access tothe right tools, the option of letting you try on as many styles as you like and a knowledgeable member of staff that cancommunicate directly with you regarding your needs. Lacing: Mythos patented lacing system, very low to ensure better foot support and optimal adjustment of the shoe volume If you’ve tried on any shoe in the TX lineup, you know the drill: both the sizing and fit of these shoes are unique. For starters, most people find that they run large, so if you’re on the fence, we recommend sizing down a half size from your normal number. I have the TX2, TX3, and TX4, and wear a size 8 in all three instead of my usual 8.5. Second, both the TX3 and TX4 have a wide forefoot designed to increase both comfort and stability, which is uncommon from La Sportiva. As someone who has a particularly wide foot, I really love the fit of these shoes. However, if you have a narrow or low-volume foot, you’ll likely find the TX4 to be far too roomy. In the end, if this is your first pair of shoes from the TX lineup, we recommend trying on before you buy, or at least purchasing from an online marketplace with a lenient return and exchange policy. Choosing such mountaineering boots and hiking shoes might seem like giving up on waterproof properties, but you can have both. With tough, durable and supportive waterproof hiking boots, you can suitably protect your feet from the rain or snow.
