Sharing gives us power over our own lives. No person can control a thing when it is freely available to all. Sharing is a basic human impulse that binds people together. When we share knowledge, skills, experience, and wisdom, it costs us nothing but our time, and often leaves us richer than we were. Savannah Dubrinsky is the daughter of the Dark Prince. She wants her independence and isn't interested in answering to an ancient, bossy, control freak vampire that is claiming to be her life mate. Savannah is young and somewhat naive, but she has spunk and refuses to do Gregori's bidding without a fight. NEVER,NEVER Go after dark knowledge. even with a great experience and hard work , first of all you should became full honest with yourself and never go for your own benefit I always know where you are, every moment. Five years ago you said you needed time, and I gave it to you. But I've never left you. I never will."

I’m 20 years late to this series which yes could make a huge difference. I may have enjoyed this more had I read it when it first came out. But I didn’t and I’ve struggled. I’ve found the books boring and repetitive. I was being childish, Gregori, when I made such an accusation," she said softly, her eyes meeting his squarely. "I wanted my own life, with no one to answer to. It was thoughtless and wrong of me. And I was afraid. But I'm not now, and I ask your forgiveness - "-Savannah I love you, Gregori," she whispered softly against his throat. "I really love you. The real you. Do you understand?"-Savannah

Gregori is a tortured soul. He believes himself to be the monster she has branded him. But he loves her; he needs her. He doesn't think he deserves her; especially because he thinks he tampered with nature and somehow forced her to become his lifemate while her mother carried her in the womb. Savannah begins to soften toward Gregori as she sees the ways he is fragile. And she realizes that despite his strengths and dominating ways, she has much power, simply because of his feelings for her. I liked Savannah. She was independent, intelligent, but also loving. She fought the lifemate bond initially, but then she came to realize that she was just as compelled to love Gregori, and she helped him get over his guilt about 'manipulating their connection' while she was in the womb. I really liked the communication Gregori had with Savannah when he saved her and her mother Raven's life. It made me want to read their book. Meh. Done now, but I really skimmed the last part of the book. I expected more from Tor. Really. To wit:

If you've read any of this woman's supernatural romance, then you know how this book reads. I lost count how many times she used the word velvet. I'm really not a romance reader, so by the end of the book I was skipping the sex scenes skimming the repetitive bits about how perfect they were for each other, yadda yadda yadda, and was trying to finish reading the bits with some actual plot in it. This book is so beautiful and gorgeously formatted! You can tell the author put a lot of time and effort into creating a beautiful piece of art with this book! Once the story was more focused on the actual chasing of Lucifer it started going faster for me and I was hooked. That whole ending really got me on the edge of my seat and I just can’t believe I now have to wait until I know the rest of that story!!! (my heart broke a little btw, I was not ready for that ending!) Raluca’s writing is delightful and she has created a very fascinating world that leaves you wanting to know more about it and its characters. I cannot wait to read the rest of Primrose’s story.

This story absolutely blew me away. The writing is so beautifully immersive and atmospheric. It feels transportive, and just an incredibly thrilling and compelling ride. Overflowing with Underworld Mythology, and astounding imaginative twists on the Fables we've all been brought up on. Utterly enchanting and enthralling, there's so much action and adventure, it genuinely makes you forget you're reading, I was on edge the whole time. Primrose is just a fierce bad-ass, the amount of trials and battles she faces, yet she fights them all without fear or exhaustion is truly unmatched, she's on a whole other godly level. There are several different plot lines running simultaneously through the story, but it's just so immersive that it flows well, everything weaves together so seamlessly, adding further insight and depth to the stunning writing. James Swain's Dark Magic could be compared to the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, but the latter delivers on magic, action, detective plots and strong character development much better and I'd recommend it over Dark Magic anytime. It's also wonderfully read by James Marsters.

The conflicts between friends and lovers are unconvincing when put in contrast to the life-and-death situations they find themselves in. There’s a lot of overlap between the gothic tradition of literature and dark magic fantasy. Helen Oyeyemi’s White is for Witchingis an enchanting novel that blends elements of both these sub-genres. On the Dover coast, the Silvers live in a house filled with ominous sounds and twisty halls, trying to recover from a terrible loss. Young Miranda is increasingly drawn into the house’s past, with its lingering echo of women residents from generations past. When she disappears, the Silvers will have to finally confront the secrets they’ve suppressed and face their grief once and for all. Vicious by V.E. Schwab i felt like it was really jarring that the goddess of death basically talked like a 24 year old! i really wanted her to be more ancient! also the way she dresses! i know it’s so minor but i feel like it really took me out of the story!

You will be able to see true nature of others personally and will understand the meaning of your own life and the whole creation reason Ahh, the early 2000's: when kidnapping and rape were acceptable in vampire books and even deemed ROMANTIC and TRAGIC. Jfc. However, if the Carpathian allows himself to feed off a human who hasn't been mesmerized to feel no fear and then kills that human, they get a high off the adrenaline filled blood and the power of killing. This is a big lure for those older Carpathians without a life mate, because it provides a temporary fix of feeling (kinda like what I've read about serial killers). Once they start down that path they lose their soul and become a true vampire and are under the sentence of death by Carpathian law. And they all know what will happen if they reveal themselves. They've already lost a friend that way. They're not afraid that no one will believe them. The government will believe them. The CIA took their friend Nemo somewhere they could pump him for predictions--indefinitely. Almost every English author who subsequently wrote on the subject of witchcraft mentioned Scot disparagingly,” Davies writes of the period. Scot died in 1599; the book was not republished during his lifetime. There wasan abridged Dutch translation published in 1609, Davies notes, but was not republished in England until 1651, nearly three quarters of a century after its initial publication.
