I enjoy the odd Psychological Thiller as you tend to know what you are getting, so yeah you may have to suspend disbelief at some of story but I expect that with Psychological thrillers (to an extent) and this book works really well as the plot and the characters are clever and I enjoyed the suspense.Jordan Stephens as Sam, Tasha's friend, with whom she had a sexual relationship in the past. [3] [2] On the positive side, the story is suspenseful, well-constructed, and easy to follow - and I was very curious to find out what happened and why. Elana’s character just didn’t ring true. She was portrayed as an innocent young mother who was widowed at a young age. All she has in life was her daughter. Yet when she started to realize the danger she was in she stayed and put her daughter in grave danger. Hmmm… With the FBI nowhere to be found (not even mentioned for the most part) Elena takes on her sadistic husband alone. Didn’t really add up for me.🤷🏻‍♀️ This book was SO GOOD… absolutely gripping. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Just when I thought I had something figured out, there would be another twist. If you’re looking for a solid domestic thriller, I highly recommend this one. Knowing this is a domestic psych thriller ahead of time, I tried to guess the twist, and OMG I didn't even see it! What an entertaining first book for me from Jenna Kernan, and I'll just have to look for more. What I liked about this book is that I was never really sure what was going on or how things were going to play out. I was addicted for the first 50%, but then things fizzled out a bit. I figured out the first major twist but was surprised by some others. There were certain revelations that were a bit of a letdown. I also was quite intrigued by Sam’s character and wanted to know more about him.

The Ex Wife is a rollercoaster of a psychological thriller. It was exciting, thrilling and kept me guessing.

I can understand how a newer wife who’s younger and who’s quite in awe of this other sophisticated woman thinks, ‘Who am I to ban someone from seeing this person they’ve spent x amount of time with?’" I enjoyed this audiobook read by Stephanie Cannon. I was able to distinguish the characters without any problem. Male characters did sound funny like they are drunk and it took me a while to realize that wasn't the case.The book is divided into now and then, third person narrating. Slow domestic suspense, not very thrilling and slightly boring at times. Halfway through I got really bored with the story and Elana. The writing is ok, bland at times. I found the characters a bit flat to be honest. Though, good that Elana got her act together and stood up for herself. That was such an toxic relationship already without the missing girls. As great as it would be to start a relationship with someone who's a total clean slate, you're likely going to date someone who already has some kind of romantic history. Although the healthiest option is to let the past stay in the past, sometimes people will enter into a new relationships without being completely over an ex. So, how do you know if your partner still isn't over their ex? According to experts, there are some behaviors you may want to pay attention to. Narrated by Stephanie Cannon for 11 hours, easy to follow at 2x. Overall she did a fine job, but I could have went for more emotion at times, especially when she was in the sea and her life was on the line.
