About this deal

My only concern is that by removing that washer the spool may catch on the bail assembly when in its lowest position. Worth a try though.

Really? God knows what people were doing to bend the shafts on the mk1, I found them strong as anything and had cats to over 60"lb on them with no damage Can't do links sorry but jrc shared it on fb earlier its called the affinity 2 custom carbon edition I think. I would go as far as to say the ci4 is pretty close to the performance of my aero techs and and the equal of the power aero to say the okuma is anywhere close to it , is a load of absolute cobblers . You won't regret it mate. Got 3 myself and were far better than the Avid Carp big pits I had beforeI have had the Penn affinity Ltd 8000 since I think 2015? and they seem bomb proof been using them on my pike rods in all conditions and not one issue, line lay superb, clutch is QD and for the money brilliant only thing I wish I had done was got the 7000 as the 8000 are big! Put these against my penns I own only one is on a par with it for longevity and robustness thats he aerlex gtr I accept the penn is a little more refined but that could be classed as over engineering in an item that essentially retrieves line from the water. What don't you get ? You have stated in your post the attraction, value for money and they look good, the only thing they won't do that your mate's basiairs will is attract thieves although I doubt the clutch will seize up in the rain either.lol.

Never noticed that myself mate, had cats over 60 on them too which I'd have thought would show it up tbh. Either way, bloody good reels for way less than similar spec shimano or daiwa offeringsThe handles specifically the grips are the only downside I can see. If your only fishing with nice neat baiys and in the warm wether they should be fine. Just thought I would update , I have used these for a week in France and I thought they were pretty good , am going again next week for another session . What is the deal with these reels? If someone could outline the reasons behind why this thread is quite popular that would be great. These reels are seriously making me considering moving away from baitrunners for my main rods for the first time ever.... Can't comment on that, haven't used the version 2. Bought the older ones and they are still going very well.
