About this deal

We were kindly sent two sets of the wipes to put through their paces and have done so on headlights of varying oxidation. We looked at ease of use, effectiveness, value and their place on the market. We don't really understand the place for this product if we are honest and were really hoping it could be a potential game changer if it worked. In short, it doesn't. It works to the extent that yellowing is removed but on test headlights, once the yellowing is removed, it doesn't restore at all any of the oxidised surface or heavier clouding. Which the product does say as an NB upon it. New lenses are usually expensive, so most people will try to revive the old plastic. There are plenty of kits available along with other polishes and a common internet ‘expert’ ideas too.

continue to wipe, turning wipe to clean section as needed until no residue is visible on wipe. Discard wipe. These are then followed with a final polish using a sponge attachment and special polishing liquid. Once you are happy with the results, you spray on an aerosol sealant to protect the surface. Drying time after step 3 is dependent upon weather conditions. Drying may take longer in lower temperatures or higher humidity. The Armor All Headlight Restorer Wipes Kit helps restore the look of your headlights made of polycarbonate plastic that can be clouded over, mostly due to oxidation caused by UV rays that degrade and discolour the outer layers of plastic. It is a simple, easy, and straightforward solution that involves no sandpaper or tools, allowing you to restore your headlights like new, in little or no time with less effort! Hazy yellow headlights can be a safety risk and potentially lead to MOT failure. Current solutions to headlight cleaning are often complicated and require tools, time and effort. But with Armor All® Headlight Restorer Wipes Kit, all you need is 2 wipes and 10 minutes to restore your headlights like new! Features & Benefits: NOTE: Drying time after step 3 is dependent upon weather conditions. Drying may take longer in lower temperatures or higher humidity.

But it was really hard work to get though through the weathered plastic layer to find a shine, and the sealant seemed to make little difference to the finish or protection either. If we were being brutal, we’d say the T-Cut kit did little more than the toothpaste. Holts Headlight Restoration Kit– Best Buy (machine applied) It’s not nonsense either, as the whitening element can remove yellowing in the plastic just as it does on your teeth. Meanwhile the fine particles in the paste act as a gentle abrasive to polish the dull surface. note: though your headlight may appear clear additional deep cleaning could be necessary to ensure all oxidation is removed.

apply to the headlight surface by wiping in one direction, similar to applying a coat of paint. Repeat on second headlight. One wipe should coat two headlights. Continue to wipe, turning wipe to clean section as needed until no residue is visible on wipe. Discard wipe. ensure that both headlights have been cleaned with the oxidation removal wipe and that surface is dry before applying sealant. For best results, first wipe surface with a clean, lint-free towel. Even at this price is seemed reasonable value though, as it includes four different grades of sandpaper, a cutting paste and finally a UV sealant. There’s even a glove so you don’t get any of the chemicals on your skin and little roll of masking tape to help protect the paint work around the lens – although this is more useful when using power tools, unless you’re particularly energetic and careless. They looked pretty good when I finished. I stupidly didn't have my phone so I don't have good before and after photos.
