About this deal

In New York, Mischa asks the Faerie Eldest to open a path to the Dragon-King's tomb. Hali tells Mischa about the "King's Bane" comic she read, which contains the same verse the Riddle-Tree gave the twins: "What is shattered must be mended, What is mended must be shattered." This was an easy and enjoyable read. I actually finished it in an afternoon.. In the beginning I was afraid this would be a reverse harem, which I just can't read or enjoy, because of my constant eye rolling and laughing... but it wasn't!

That being said, this is a very promising lead in to the new series. I thought the book was interesting and creative and as I mentioned before, I really, really love the characters; main and secondary. I will still recommend Supernatural Academy: Year One to my urban fantasy loving friends and I look forward to book two and year of the purple. She meets her lifelong friends within the first 5 minutes. Drawn to the 5 “most beautiful powerful men” in those same five minutes while also catching the attention of all the school bitches Also, for those who hate cliffhangers, this book does resolve the major conflict from the story so it reads as complete, though there will clearly be a continuation of the story as there is more yet to come with everything that has been happening. You don't need to wait for the next book to come out before starting this one. I would suggest grabbing it up now and meeting these awesome characters and exploring their world at the academy. Don’t have partially strong feelings about this one way or another. It was quite middle of the road. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing (Hey, we’re all for self-indulgent OCs here at Polygon dot com). But she doesn’t really feel like a hero we’re rooting for yet, since she basically has it all already. Mischa is definitely more of the audience surrogate, as someone raised in the human world. Still, seeing the different magical beings interact in a school environment is fun, even if a lot of those interactions are about how Jessa is so cool and popular.Mischa and Max confront the prisoner Kristov: it turns out it is this Kristov whom Santra is impersonating. Santra reveals herself, overpowers her guards, and takes Max hostage. She threatens to kill Max if Mischa does not come with her. Rone was even broader across the shoulders than Jesse, which was quite a feat. His features were beautiful. I mean, a fallen angel from the sky beautiful, with that golden-blond hair and icy blue eyes framed by long golden lashes, defined cheekbones, and a strong, angular jaw." Right ummmm...all my brain is saying is "where to start" over and over again...so not helpful brain. Maybe I should start by saying that I think Jaymin broke my brain and turned me into a broken record. But what an amazing book to be broken on. So don't be goin' expecting too much... The protectiveness and love all the characters have for one another is seriously so far off the charts. These are characters that you find yourself easily relating to and connecting to. There wasn't a moment that I wasn't feeling what they were...and that's what makes this ride so phenomenally perfect.

I mean who wouldn't want to have a family? He really thought of her as a sister only to be stabbed by her (literally) I like books with the academy / boarding school trope, because I missed my teen years due depression (that's a story for another day, lol) and so, I think they're pretty cool, entertained and a little bit refreshing. I like the idea of making new friends who will be with you fighting darkness and that kind of shit. The supernatural world versus the human one, and the inner politics between the magical species! We learn that dragon shifters are particularly rare, because centuries ago the Dragon King tried to take over the Fae realm and out of fear, people hunted them down. Some dragons treat wolves like Jessa with some resentment, since wolf shifters enjoy a certain level of status and prestige in the supernatural world. The headmaster seems to have it out for Jessa — and his shady actions in the woods certainly don’t help his case. But not all dragon shifters hate wolves. Despite the pact not to start a romance among the friend group, Braxton has it pretty bad for Jessa — how do interspecies relationships even work in this world? At the Academy, Braxton and Maximus decide to visit cloisters in other realms. Someone—they assume Kristov—is visiting cloisters one by one to free the Dragon-marked. They plan to deliver him to the authorities so that the hunt for the twins will end. The Four work out that the twins are in New York, but do not know exactly where. They decide to travel there separately, reasoning that one of them will get close enough to detect the twins' presence.

Jaymin Eve has stated that Supernatural Academy has been her most asked about book and after reading it, you won't have to ask why. The night after the heist, the twins visit the Hub, from where they can visit other supernatural enclaves. They find the door, but it will not open: Jessa concludes that neither of them has the correct aura to open it. The Hub has several other doors: one opens on its own, nearly dropping the girls into lava. Secret Keepers series (Paranormal Romance) House of Darken. House of Imperial. House of Leights. House of Royale. Meanwhile, in the human world, misfit Mischa keeps having strange visions of a door in a forest, which she turns into evocative drawings. Urged by her new friend to turn those drawings into a comic, Mischa believes that maybe she’s finally settling in somewhere — but her anxious mother notices the drawings and begins to fret. Mischa brushes her off, but after a vivid dream where she turns into a wolf, she wakes up to find the couch in tatters… What’s it really about? It was time again to jump on the first bus out of here and start my new life. I probably could have stopped running by now—no one was looking for me anymore—but maybe part of me was still searching for the illusion of home that everyone else had.

Sexy Urban Fantasy

Even before Harry Potter, magical schools have been a staple of fantasy stories — and they continue to be a tried and true setting for fantastical adventures. From The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Academy of Unseen Arts to Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy in The Magicians, from The Owl House’s Hexside to Fate: The Winx Saga ’s Alfea, the concept of a boarding school where students learn the magical arts continues to be a staple of fantasy stories. If one person is able to make you feel all the feels...I betcha it's this chic...this book will have you playing a serious game of whiplash and one moment you'll be laughing and then the next you'll have tears in your eyes and then everything in between and beyond. All I know is that if this book doesn't make you feel things, I don't know what will. And I may then be inclined to believe Maddie had been a loner all her life and suddenly in a day she gets two BFFs who are sooooooo close to her and so suddenly that it defies all logic of friendship. But once I realised this is branch of the supernatural prison series then it makes much more sense for this to be in the same vein. There’s some character crossovers which was cool and I’m familiar with the world already So, we’re on new girl babysitting duty,” Calen said, and he waggled an eyebrow at me. “I’m taking the night shift.”
