About this deal

Monopoly Gamer was released in 2017 and was centred around the Nintendo game Super Mario Bros. Three years later came a sequel; introducing Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart! With two huge games blended together, it was almost certain to be a great success from the start! Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart- Just as Crazy as You’d Expect! When the game has ended, players add up their points from their Properties, Races, and Coins. Every 5 coins if worth 10 points. So for example, if you have 23 coins, they are worth 40 points. Indeed, Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart hasn’t left out the most crucial part- racing around the iconic courses! Each time a player passes Go, they trigger a race. The top Grand Prix card is revealed and players have to choose what to do. Each race costs a certain number of coins to enter, with rewards being given for finishing in a variety of positions, as well as the winner getting the card itself. You can earn extra properties, get free power-ups, send people to jail, and even steal properties from people! Properties are set up on the board from least expensive to most expensive. When you land on a property and it is unowned, you may buy it for the price printed on the space, if you buy it, take the deed card. This deed card will earn you money when someone else lands on the card, and it's also worth points at the end of the game. Don't want to buy it or can't afford it? Green Shell: The next player on the board (from your position) drops 3 Coins on their current space. (If more than one player is on the space, the player chooses who drops the coins).

Power-Up (Lightning Bolt): After all other players drop 1 Coin, roll the numbered die, and move again. Follow the rules of that space. Landing on a Warp Pipe Space lets the player move their character to the very next Warp Pipe space on the board. The player also collects any dropped coins on the spaces between those two Warp Pipes and on the landing Pipe (not from the departing Pipe). There are no Community Chest or Chance spaces. In their places are four Super Star Spaces and four Warp Pipe Spaces, one of each on each side of the game board. You may still collect rent, take part in auctions, and trade. Character Abilities still affect you. If you ever need to drop Coins while In Jail, drop them on the Just Visiting space. How do I get out of Jail? The property goes up for auction. Bidding starts with you and moves to the left. Bids start at 1 Coin and may be raised by as little as 1 Coin. When you land here, roll the numbered die, and collect that many Coins from the Bank. Tripple arrows There is a summary later on all the characters special abilities, plus the abilities of the expansion characters Spaces Thwomp On your turn, you will roll the two dice, and decide which die to use first. Either you move first, or use the ability on the Power-Up die first.

When you land on a property that someone else owns, pay them the rent shown on the property's Title Deed card.

If you have the coin the races are worth a try, and all the players have to do to actually race is roll the movement dice. Positions are determined based on the dice rolls, with ties being repeated until resolved. But How Do I Actually Win the Game? There are many different versions of Disney Monopoly, each of which uses different characters. Some feature the Disney villains, others focus on the princesses, and others include Pixar characters only. Most of the games still use Jake the Jailbird and Officer Edgar Mallory, but not all. The Spiny Shell normally lets you target any player and causes them to drop 3 coins. But if someone’s playing as Bowser, for example, the Spiny Shell has a different effect: it now causes the player with the most coins to drop 3, and all other players drop 1. If there is a tie, the player with the most amount of property and racecards win! Character Summary Base game characters

Toad: You may drop up 5 coins and move forward that many spaces. Resolve the rules on the space where you land. If the game has gotten tight though, every 5 coins gets you 10 points too, so don’t be afraid to hoard. We loved this approach to the game, as it means everything you do is getting you points or taking others’ away, even when only coins are impacted. And What Do I Think of it All? Power-Up (Banana): You may remove any number of Bananas from the board. Collect 3 Coins from the Bank for each Banana you remove. Landing on a Super Star Space activates the player character's Super Star Ability, listed on the Character card. Each character has a unique Super Star Ability so listed. For example, if a player using Mario lands on a Super Star Space, the player rolls the numbered die and receives the number rolled + 5 Coins (i.e. a roll of a 3 earns the player 8 Coins total.) In Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart, instead of properties in London you can stake your claim on courses from across the racing games. It brings old classics like Mario Circuit and Sweet Sweet Canyon, mixed in with fan favourites like Bowser’s Castle and the legendary Rainbow Road! These properties cost 1-5 coins and have fun and simple designs like a lot of the game’s components.

Banana: Drop a banana token on your current space. The next player who passes this space must stop and resolve that space's action. If you are playing Luigi, you can put a banana on any of the property spaces you own. At any time on your turn, you may offer to buy, sell, or trade Property with other players. You may not sell nor trade Race cards at any time. The points you earn from winning a race are yours until the end of the game! Just visiting This sequel to the Monopoly Gamer board game joins forces with Nintendo Mario Kart characters and elements. Move around the gameboard as Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, or Toad; buy iconic Mario Kart properties such as Bowser's Castle, and Rainbow Road. Pass Go to trigger a race from Mario Kart Cup, dodge banana peel tokens, toss shells, and collect Coins. A Super Star space activates special abilities and rolling the Power-Up Die adds a special boost. Winning in this game is all about winning races! Who will end up with the coveted Grand Prix card? When the final race is over, the player with the highest score wins. An OK game for kids and families. Great if you also like Mario Kart. Actual gamers; stay away from this one, it's too random. 6/10. That said, this might be the best Mario board game out there, and one of the best Monopoly Gamer versions.
