Listen in as she takes six different people on a career change journey to help them figure out what work they would really love to do and create a plan of how to make that career change happen. A much-used word, karma is loosely understood as a system of checks and balances in our lives, of good actions and bad deeds, of good thoughts and bad intentions. For the first time, Andrew Ridgeley - one half of one of the most famous bands in the world - tells the inside story of Wham! Which gives me hope for some of the old friends I've been meant to be having catch-up drinks with since the early 2010s. He's got his nose buried in the book and keeps sniggering and laughing out loud, so I guess that's a good sign.

In comparison, Bob Mortimer (and Adam Buxton) seems to be less filtered, his instinct more on the side of silliness than whether he is doing the clever thing. I also didn’t expect to learn that the fixed spool or spinning reel was developed by a textile manufacturer who thought that the principle of the shuttle on a loom might work to prevent fishing line becoming tangled when cast. The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai - a reason for being; the thing that gets you out of bed each morning. Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer have been working in British comedy for over 30 years and are considered legends of the business.

They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. I never thought I'd see the day when I would whole-heartedly recommend an audiobook over an actual, real, phsyical book, but here I am. And yet, for all his heartfelt pleading of the case for responsible fishing, I still can’t get past the stress the fish must be under, even if only momentarily.

We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring there is something for every literary palate. In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. In this wonderful book, the two fishermen collaborate to celebrate the rich tapestry that is fishing - from mentors to memories; from philosophy to modern jargon; from watercraft to becoming self-styled 'Fishing Detectives'. In this five-part series, US happiness expert and positive psychologist Michelle Gielan and British journalist and author Oliver Burkeman explore ways to become truly happier, backed up by scientific evidence.

However their other thesis that life is short, so die fishing if you love it, is well made; gently and touchingly in places. Paul is the teacher and the river guide, Bob organises their accommodation and heart-healthy cooking for each episode. Whilst not a definitive guide to angling, this book covers the authors’ introductions to angling and how they found the trips therapeutic, giving them the idea for the tv programmes. It is calm and serene, it is two comedy legends being funny but not scripted, it is the greatest of the Great British countryside and it is a slow look at life away from the busy milennial, city-dwelling, need-to-get-from-Manchester-to-London-in-less-than-two-hours (WHY?It explains their health issues and you understand why they are having a good time and enjoying life, but they are very funny and it is a If very uplifting read. But then we get a fair chunk that's just Paul going through some different types or fishing, rods, the fish to catch, the lures and bait used to catch said fish. I’d recommend this book if you like the comedy work of these men, or if you’re curious about fishing, or if you just like listening in on warm and lasting friendships.
