When Vivien Massad at Redgrass Games approached me regarding the Everlasting Wet Palette (check out news on the KICKSTARTER HERE) I was instantly intrigued, I have used a wet palette for several years now, yet there are still issues with it’s use and suitability. The only downside is that the glass palette can’t be covered inside the palette along with the wet palette feature. In summary I have enjoyed using the Everlasting wet palette more than any other I have tried previously.
A premium wet palette for the serious (and casual) miniature painter, scale model hobbyist, or artist. In the end, I didn’t back, mostly because my initial reaction was that the palette would be too small for me. As compared with the older version and other wet palettes, such as The Army Painter Wet Palette, you don’t need the elastic band for good closure of the palette lid. While it is pricier than most, if not all, of it’s close competitors, and functions similarly, I think many of us pro or casual painters would love using this premium-looking, highly functional palette on a regular basis. I don't use a ton of dropper bottle paints either, but I can see the benefit for those ones more, as it's a bit harder to control exactly how much paint you're getting out.
Even as a prototype though the palette is rather attractive and stylish in design and after the weekend of Euro Miniature Expo in Folkestone I had the chance to try out the palette.
Well, if you’ve added too little, your paints will dry start to go dry, and patches of the hydration paper will also remain dry to the touch.Easy to use, easy to clean and with the prospect of never having to replace the foam, this could be the wet palette we have been hankering for. Included in the care package were the new wavy dry palette accessory for using liquid mediums you don’t want to load onto the wet palette itself. I was quite impressed by the box in which the product came, it makes it look like a quality product. The reusable membrane and slide-lock system are great additions, and the glass palette is a nice bonus. It all started in september 2017, with one of the most successful Crowdfunding campaigns for the hobby: the Everlasting Wet Palette.
In case the palette doesn’t work for you, at least you know you have followed the correct instructions. Today, we’re going to dive into RGG’s phenomenal Everlasting Wet Palette and make a real splash painting some brand-new Assault Intercessors. Well, a few weeks ago, the FH team utterly ruined painting and this joke for me forever by telling my the two thin coats philosophy is bogus and if I ever want to improve my painting, I had to start applying around half a dozen thin coats to my miniatures.
Nonetheless, if you’re careful and take care of your stuff, I think this won’t be a problem for most of you. Not only does the gray colored glass palette help me see my paint colors accurately, it also makes mixing and thinning my paints a pleasure.
